Pool installation timeline

While the design process is as simple as ever thanks to our use of 3D modeling, there will likely be many stages while we work with you to design the perfect pool custom fit to what you envision. On top of that, permitting is often out of our control. We have years of experience working with municipalities, but depending on where you live, this can be a simple process or a long-drawn out process. We do everything we can to hurry the process, and have good relationships with the cities we build in, so almost always this is the best case scenario instead of the worst.

Once we have the design and permits, we can schedule excavation. This is typically a very quick process, but some things do affect the timing — ease of access, the need to work around utility lines, and more. After the electrical work is finished, most counties require an inspection of the electrical work. Alaglas Pools of Charleston must pass an electrical inspection before concrete we can pour concrete. Make sure ditches are left uncovered until the electrical inspection is completed.

After an electrical inspection, your concrete installer will arrive at your home to set the forms and pour the concrete deck. If concrete is poured sooner than the required time frame, any leaks that may arise in plumbing that are covered in concrete will be the responsibility of the home owner. Running the pump and filter for 4—5 days will allow for any natural compaction of the soil around the pool. It also enables you to monitor the water level of the pool to ensure there are no leaks in the plumbing.

If you are using your own concrete company, please be sure to refer to the concrete diagram supplied by your pool factory representative. The concrete must go underneath the lip of the pool to ensure a solid seal between the pool and the concrete deck. This will enable the pool to flex with the natural compaction and expansion of the concrete deck with the extreme changes in temperature encountered in our area.

Also, the skimmer collar and lid must be sealed with BOSS silicon prior to pouring the concrete to prevent leakage. Once the pool is full, we will complete a detail process to finish off all aspects of the pool. As the phases are to be completed, our construction office will call to schedule the various site visits well in advance. Additionally, we will always call you the day before a scheduled visit to confirm an arrival time and remind you of the visit.

It is requested that access to the pool area, an electrical outlet and a water source is provided and additionally any pets are put away for the safety of them and our crew. If a phase payment is due, you will be notified by the construction office in advance. Payments can be made to the crew, to your sales office, or with a credit card kept on file.
